Day 1: Grand Teton to Old Faithful
Please Note: This is just an example of a three day itinerary that has worked extremely well in the past. Let us know your interests and we will craft the perfect itinerary for your group. ......................................................................
Today we depart the town of Jackson, WY early to take advantage of the early morning hours in Grand Teton National Park, where wildlife is the most active. Explore wildlife hot spots with your experienced naturalist guide as you search for moose along the Snake River, elk beneath the Teton Range, and black bears in the conifer forest. After a morning of wildlife watching and learning about the incredible geology of Grand Teton National Park, we head north, entering the worlds first National Park. We’ll tour one of Yellowstone’s famous geyser basins before retiring to the Old Faithful Inn for the evening. If there is interest we can enjoy an evening geothermal geyser walk and if the timing is right watch Old Faithful erupt in moonlight. We will spend the majority of the day in Grand Teton National Park.

We start our 2nd day along the Madison River searching for elk, waterfowl, and other wildlife. Heading north, our next destination is a walk through the Mammoth Terraces and historic Fort Yellowstone. The US Military built this campus starting in the late 1800’s before management turned over to the National Park Service in 1919. It’s not uncommon for elk to be active throughout the grounds so keep your camera ready!
Weather depending, we’ll break for lunch in the famous Lamar Valley, where wolves were successfully reintroduced in 1995. This wildlife hotspot is also famous for its massive bison herds, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, birds of prey and other wildlife species.
Tonight we retire to the rugged mountain town of Silvergate, MT, just outside the National Park’s NE boundary, surrounded by the Beartooth Mountain Range.
