Three-Day Yellowstone Ski / Snowshoe Tour
Take in the winter wonderland of Yellowstone, led by a PSIA certified Nordic Naturalist from EcoTour Adventures
Day 1: Sunrise in Grand Teton, Private Snowcoach into Yellowstone
Arrive in Jackson, WY to start your Winter Yellowstone and Grand Teton Adventure! Our Guide will meet you for a welcome dinner, where you will get to know other guests and prepare to explore winter in the American Serengeti. It’s one of the quietest times of year to visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone, meaning we will be among a dedicated few experiencing the park during this incredible time of year. Today begins with sunrise in Grand Teton National Park, before we board a private snowcoach and venture into the heart of Yellowstone. We’ll stop to explore geyser basins, waterfalls, and winter wildlife along the way, varying our route depending on weather and recent sightings. Tonight: warm up with a hot apple cider next to the fire at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge. Meals: Dinner Lodging: Anvil Hotel or Similar
Day 2: Cross Country Skiing / Snowshoeing at the Upper Geyser basin
The winter wonderland of Yellowstone is ours to explore today as we venture out into the Geyser basins of Yellowstone. From short exploratory walks of the Upper Geyser Basin to extended nordic excursions to Grand Prismatic or Fairy Falls, there’s something for everyone today. Tonight: Weather Depending, enjoy a starlit geyser basin walk amongst the diverse features which call Yellowstone Home.
Day 3: Yellowstone to Grand Teton National Park
After a hot breakfast we depart via an express shuttle back to Grand Teton National Park. Our safari style 4x4 vehicle awaits us there, prepped for a full day of wildlife watching, or ski/snowshoe should there be interest. Winter is a great time for wildlife watching as many species are concentrated in the valley bottom. Our tour concludes this evening after a full day of wildlife watching, including an optional sleigh ride out to elk on the National Elk Refuge.
