William Meany

Growing up in upstate New York, Will spent his childhood exploring the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. These mountains cultivated Will’s love for the outdoors from an early age. He studied Environmental Studies and Natural Resource Management at the University at Buffalo. While studying, he led backpacking and hiking trips into nearby parks for students. Also while studying, Will spent a summer in Alaska doing backcountry field research on salmon populations. Data he collected was used to determine the effects of invasive Northern Pike populations on native pacific salmon populations.

After graduating from the University at Buffalo, Will decided to combine his love for guiding with that of the natural sciences. He began work in Aspen, Colorado as a naturalist leading snowshoeing and hiking tours in the mountains around Aspen. Falling in love with the Mountain West, Will decided to move to Jackson after two years in Aspen to continue his career in guiding!

Will is a University of Wyoming certified Outdoor Guide.
