With thousands of animals taking refuge in the Jackson Hole valley, winter is one of the best times of year to observe the wildlife of Grand Teton National Park and the National Elk Refuge which the experienced guides of EcoTour Adventures. Using our heated 4x4 safari style vehicles we'll visit the best wildlife hotspots of the valley, searching for moose, elk, bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, wolves, bald eagles, trumpeter swans, and more. Experience the unique and harsh conditions that local wildlife has to endure. Our accomplished guides will educate you and provide a deep understanding of how these creatures coexist and adapt to their physical environments. Our tours are designed to cater to your interests and needs and our top priority for the day is to make sure you get the most out of your sunrise or sunset wildlife experience.
The Day: Sunrise or Sunset
We’ll time our departure from the town of Jackson to coincide with peak wildlife activity; the first hours of the morning or the last hours of the afternoon. You choose what's best for your schedule!
Let one of our guides become your wildlife encyclopedia and local expert as you zoom in with your own camera or gaze out into the mountains and lowlands with our high quality binoculars and spotting scopes. We’re happy to engage with you about anything that peaks your interest, but our passion and expertise cater towards local ecology, animal behavior, animal adaptations during winter, snow science, geology, and cultural history. Should group interest and conditions allow we may depart the vehicle for short walks to educate you about the smaller wonders of this special place and to open your senses to this unique glaciated landscape.

Answer: Great Question! Both departures occur during periods of peak wildlife activity, just after sunrise and just before dark. We've found no significant difference in wildlife viewing opportunities between the two departures and encourage you to book the tour that fits best with your schedule!
