With the world’s largest bison herd, long distance elk, mule deer, and pronghorn migrations, roaming grizzly bears, and howling wolves, this 2.5 million acre protected landscape is a look at a wilder time in North America. Over 10,000 thermal features, including the famous Old Faithful Geyser bubble, steam, and erupt across the Yellowstone Plateau while powerful waterfalls carve stunning canyons into the dynamic landscape. To the south, the mighty Teton Mountain Range towers over 7000’ above the winding Snake River and the Jackson Hole Valley. Travel with your own private guide for a custom experience.
Itinerary
Yellowstone & Grand Teton Multi Day Wildlife Tour
Meet your guide early for fresh french press coffee and a light breakfast as we catch the first rays of light illuminating the Teton Mountain Range. We’ll scan the mountainsides for elk and black bears and check for moose and eagles along the Gros Ventre River as we explore the Jackson Hole Valley.
At Oxbow Bend of the Snake River, we will scan for waterfowl, eagles, otters, and beavers, with the iconic Mount Moran filling up the skyline to the west. Grizzly bears frequent the open meadows and forests of this area, we’ll also be on the lookout for sandhill cranes, mule deer, diverse songbirds, and even wolves.
Next we head north along Jackson Lake, departing Grand Teton and entering the world’s first National Park, Yellowstone. After catching an eruption of Old Faithful, we’ll have an option for a two mile hike through the Upper Geyser Basin or a possible hike to the Grand Prismatic Overlook before retiring to the nearby town of West Yellowstone, MT for the night.
Lodging - Gray Wolf Inn or Similar
Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We start our 2n day along the Madison River searching for bison, elk, waterfowl, and other wildlife. Heading north, our next destination is a walk through the Mammoth Terraces and historic Fort Yellowstone. The US Military built this campus starting in the late 1800’s before management turned over to the National Park Service in 1919.
We’ll break for lunch in the famous Lamar Valley, where wolves were successfully reintroduced in 1995 (learn more about the 25th anniversary here). This wildlife hotspot is also famous for its massive bison herds, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, birds of prey and other wildlife species.
Tonight we retire to the rugged mountain town of Silvergate, MT, just outside the National Park’s NE boundary, surrounded by the Beartooth Mountain Range.
Lodging - Silver Gate, MT
Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy French Press Coffee and breakfast on the go as we head towards wolf viewing hotspots in the Lamar Valley. Our route takes us beneath the massifs of Barronette Peak and the Thunderer, home to mountain goats who thrive high above the valley floor. As we follow Soda Butte Creek into the Lamar Valley we’ll also be on the lookout for otters, moose, bison, elk, and grizzly bears.
Heading back into the park’s interior, we’ll head to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, taking in the awe inspiring 308’ tall Lower Falls with the option for some hiking opportunities to check out other views of this natural wonder. We’ll scan for wildlife in the Hayden Valley before reaching Yellowstone Lake, one of the 7 largest high elevation lakes in the world.
The lakeside hot springs of West Thumb Geyser Basin await us for one last opportunity to view thermal features. In the afternoon we return to Grand Teton National Park for an evening wildlife safari before concluding our trip in Jackson.

We have taken multiple tours with Eco Tours and this one didn’t disappoint...it was beyond AMAZING!! We did a 3 day overnight tour splitting time between Teton National Park & Yellowstone with the best guide Sarah Ernst!! Everything was taken care of from delicious snacks from local vendors, all meals including many perfect picnic style spreads, and the best itinerary to see beautiful sites and amazing wildlife. The accommodations in Yellowstone were great for the area because there isn’t much to choose from...very cozy!!! We were blessed with perfect weather and perfect animal luck...seen multiple bears (grizzly approaching wolf pack & Grizzly at Hayden Valley with his elk catch), 30+ wolves in Lamar Valley, bison, pronghorn, moose, big horn sheep, mountain goats, beavers, and much more!!! Perfect timing and itinerary planning from Sunset overlooking lower falls, sunrise & sunset at Lamar, hiking trails, waterfalls, and touched on EVERYTHING plus extras that we asked for!! Sarah has an amazing wealth of knowledge of all areas, biology, wildlife, history, etc and there was never a question she didn’t have an answer for!!! She also took the best video and photo footage and shared them!!! Highly recommend this company and any tour they offer!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

We were on a multi-day trip with 11 participants. Jackson Eco Tour Adventure guides provided us unparalleled wildlife watching opportunities in both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. We saw grizzly bears, wolves, moose, elk, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, black bears and amazing diversity of birds. Eco Tour guides knew where and when we needed to be to get the best opportunity to watch wildlife and were able to fill the time when we were driving and searching for wildlife with their local knowledge of the natural history, geology and biology of these treasured National Parks. Their guides were also very knowledgeable on the conservation of our Parks and wildlife. We had great accommodations and they provided day lunches and field breakfast for the trip. The fall trip was amazing for both scenery and wildlife movements. The best part is you get to really enjoy the Parks without having the anxiety or distraction with driving yourself and the guides cater the trip to your interests and get you to your destinations safely. Highly recommended!
