Tenley Thompson was born just outside Washington, DC and spent her time as a child between Jackson, Wyoming and Potomac, Maryland. She has a degree in Biological Aspects of Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Tenley has been guiding guests on wildlife programs in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for over 16 years. She loves that every trip is different and a new adventure to be had and delights in meeting so many wonderful guests from all over the world. She is also a professional wildlife photographer.
When not in the office or guiding she creates wildlife-inspired ceramics for Grand Teton stores and local shops in the Jackson area under the name Jumping Jackalope Studios. Tenley has been honored to be featured as a Grand Teton National Park “Artist in the Environment” and a Yellowstone National Park Pathways Artist. When not out on trips, in the EcoTour Adventures office, or in the artist studio, Tenley enjoys skiing, birding, tracking, solo backpacking, and traveling the world to see as many wildlands as she can. She and her husband are excited to show their 5-year-old daughter Alta the wonders of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as she grows up in this wonderful place.
Tenley is a certified Wilderness First Responder and a certified University of Wyoming Outdoor Guide.
