Born in Wisconsin with a love for everything outdoors, Ryan forged a deep connection with wildlife by spending time with white-tailed deer and elk on his Grandfather Boone’s mini game farm.
At 18, Ryan, an avid skier, mountain biker, hiker and dog-lover, moved out west where the mountains, plains, and deserts captured his heart. Since then, the places he’s traveled—from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to Great Sand Dunes National Park and so many spots in between—have awakened his soul. Ryan’s passion for wildlife shines bright as he shares his stories and love for wild things with guests of EcoTour Adventures.
Awarded the 2017 Professional Guest Services Employee of Year for Colorado Ski Country USA, Ryan has a solid track record of superior customer service that compliments his skills as an EcoTour Adventures guide.
Ryan is also a dedicated landscape and wildlife photographer for Elk Raven Photography, the company he started with his wife, Chris (also an EcoTour Adventures guide). Ryan enjoys drawing upon his photography experiences and adventures to teach guests about ethical wildlife viewing and photography practices while on tour.
When he’s not guiding, Ryan can be found riding his mountain bike on sweet singletrack and hiking in the mountains with his wife and their yellow lab, Nala.
Ryan is a certified Wilderness First Responder.
