Our experienced avian biologists will bring you to the very best viewing spots, from the sage flats to thick forest, you'll be amazed by the diversity. Over 300 species of birds have been documented in the park, including many rare and elusive species. We may encounter a camouflaged Great-gray Owl, the vibrant Wester Tanager or hear a rare Trumpeter Swan flying over, every trip will be filled with surprises. This tour is designed to explore and view as many habitats and species as possible, but can be catered to your specific birding goals for the best experience. -Come join us for a tour and find out how amazing the birding can be!
We’ll depart the town of Jackson for our half day adventure close to sunrise. Half day tours last roughly 4 hours and we offer them only during the mornings to focus on the best hours for birding. Let one of our guides become your birding expert as you focus in with your camera or with our high quality Swarovski binoculars and spotting scopes. Be prepared for non-strenuous hikes to get away from the road to view birds flitting about, and for listening to the chorus of song. Our guides are happy to engage with you about anything that piques your interest, but our passion and expertise cater towards local bird ecology, behavior, and adaptations.
Full day birding
The full day birding tour will begin close to sunrise to maximize the hours of the day when birds are most active. Your Avian Biologist Guide will seek out the best birding hotspots, and with the use of our high quality Swarovski spotting scopes and binoculars, you'll be able to observe the diverse bird life. Be prepared for non-strenuous hikes to get away from the road to view birds flitting about, and for listening to the chorus of song. After a morning session of uninterrupted birding, we’ll enjoy lunch together at one of the park’s amazing lodges, or if the weather permits and there is interest, we may enjoy a picnic style lunch on the shore of Jackson Lake or another scenic location. After a relaxing lunch, we’ll continue to explore the birding spots of the park, seeking out any species that may have eluded us in the morning. Knowledgeable in so many areas of expertise other than birds, make sure to pick your guide’s brain on topics like animal behavior, animal adaptations, geology of the area, local botany, and the cultural history of this special place.
