Spotting grizzly bear 610 and 3 cubs started our morning with guide Colin giving us perspectives from all angles: the bears, the rangers, and even photographers. Having him provide the scope and binoculars for up close views while the bears meandered the hillside was a highlight. Throughout the day Colin spotted wildlife that we were oblivious to seeing on our own. During the day tour of the Grand Tetons seeing wildlife, driving back roads and stopping at scenic views, Colin remained attentive to our questions, patient and thorough in his descriptions, just the right balance of sharing of his unbelievable knowledge and being interested in us! He was willing to stop for photos/breaks/scenery viewing whenever we asked. The fresh French Press coffee and clothe napkins for snacks were just an extra added touch. The small group (3) made us feel we had an individualized tour.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eco Tour Adventures and would use them again in future visits.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!

I had originally set-up with Taylor of Eco Tour Adventures in Jackson, Wyoming (Grand Tetons National Park) hoping to photograph Bears. Well my wife, I, and a couple of friends really lucked out by seeing 13 bears (11 Grizzly Bears) on the first three days of our trip. When we finally met up with Taylor on the fourth day, I mentioned to him that although we had seen many bears, we had yet to spot any wolves(Yellowstone) on our trip. Well to our surprise Taylor told us of wolves being in the Grand Tetons NP. He took us to a remote location in the park, spotting many animals along the way including Pronghorn, Bald Eagle, Bison, Elk....etc. Well I be....We saw 5 Wolves in Grand Tetons NP thanks to Taylor and 0 in Yellowstone the two prior days on our own! Not done yet!! Taylor took us to a couple of spots on the way back to Jackson telling us of the History, Wildlife, and Landscape of the the Grand Tetons. The other animal we had yet to encounter was a Bull Moose, which Taylor spotted along the River at our last location. We got out and were able to observe and photograph the Bull Moose under the guidance and expertise of Taylor from Eco Tour Adventures. Good food and beverages were also provided.

Touring with Taylor = Terrific!

I had high expectations after reading all of the other reviews...for once in my life, even my highest of expectations was exceeded after touring with Taylor! He was very timely in picking us up at our hotel and I was immediately at ease after meeting him; no awkwardness whatsoever. We decided on the 4-hour Grand Teton tour (sunset). We started off in the elk reserve and Taylor immediately began telling us about the history of the area, which morphed into discussions regarding animal biology and the ecosystem. It was like that the entire time; I was amazed at his depth of knowledge! We then headed into the Tetons- It's the dead of winter here so we didn't get to see any bears, but, we did get to see a golden eagle, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, coyotes, moose, bison, elk (of course), bighorn sheep...and WOLVES. Granted, they were at a distance, but it was still really neat to find wolves! Taylor can spot things from a very far distance- he's really enthusiastic and you can tell he loves his job. There were also plenty of all natural and organic goodies with hot and cold beverages to boot as we drove along. All in all, a great day and the scenery in winter is spectacular! There's a good chance I'll be out here again in the summer to do an all day tour with Eco Tour Adventures through Yellowstone. I am so grateful to have found this touring company...
thanks, Taylor!!
An unforgettable experience
The Eco Tour Adventures 3 day Teton and Yellowstone National Parks tour is amazing with fantastic scenery, wildlife and flora. Taylor adds to this with his comprehensive knowledge of the fauna and geology. Among many things we saw at least 11 wolves (around 10% of those in Yellowstone), 3 grizzly bears, 2 black bears, 3 coyotes, bison, antelope, deer of various kinds, elk, moose, bald eagles, geese, swans, ducks etc. Without Taylor's local knowledge expertise and equipment we would have failed to see many of the rarer animals which were an important objective for our visit. We thoroughly recommend Eco Tours for those wanting a full experience of the 2 parks.

My wife and I went on a Sunset Tour of Grand Teton National Park with Colin 9/29 and it was fantastic. I have been coming to JH every year since 2002 and wish I had done this tour back then. Colin was an encyclopedia of knowledge of the area and was a pleasure to spend time with. Everything from the vehicle to the binoculars to the local soda made this trip outstanding. We saw osprey, moose, pronghorns, elk, bison and 2 black bears. We loved hearing about the history of the area while driving around. We learned an incredible amount in a short time. Colin is a 1st class guide and we look forward to the opportunity to book him again in 2012!!! also loved th fact that Eco Tours allows you to specify a charity close to their heart that some of the proceeds of the tour go to. Very nice touch!!
